So it all started ...

Already at the age of 5-6 I discovered my creative spirit. I was never very good at playing, but instead I usually wanted to create. Already in kindergarten I was fascinated by patterns and materials and equipped with textile tape and some fabric I started to create clothes for my dolls. Spooking me out in grandma's beautiful old ball gowns and jewelry was also a favorite occupation and already around the age of ten I knew for sure that I wanted to create clothes.

School time

In my teens I start to seriously design and sew my own clothes. When it came time for the choice of high school, there was never really any choice. In 1986 I started at aesthetically practical high school in Sundsvall. In 1988 I moved to Stockholm and started at Anders Beckman's School of Design where I read a combination education in dress and clothing sewing.

Getting a job as a costume designer

After graduating in 1990, I moved home to Sundsvall and arranged a fashion show at Sundsvall's square, where I displayed my departure collection. In order to support myself, I started working at several fabric and sewing accessories stores. The time in the store gave too little oxygen to my creativity, so in 1993 I stepped into Theater Västernorrland and succeeded with the art piece to get me an internship.

Costume Master

In 1998, I was offered a substitute as a suit master. The same year, the theater gets the assignment to sew the costumes for the dance ensemble Norrdans. This opened up new opportunities for me, both in terms of work and in terms of opportunities to meet inspirational designers from all over the world. One of these was the well-known clothing designer and AD for Vouge NY Patrick Kinmonth, whom I would later get the honor to work with for the dance show "In the middle of now where".

Love and family

Even on the private plane, there were joys when I met the love of my life one December night. He has been running his own company for import and design for 25 years and, like me, was an artist soul. With the facts in hand, it was therefore no wonder that it was precisely his beautiful poems and our shared passion for roses that first caught my interest.

Start your own

In 2008, the theater again underwent a change and I was notified of termination. With a family to support, I began to ponder the trajectories of starting my own brand. I wanted to find something that could combine my professional skills with family life, while providing a secure income for the family. As a new mom, it felt incredibly strange to go into baby shops without being able to find any baptismal clothing that matched the individual wishes of the 2000s parents.

With the help of my brother, who is a successful entrepreneur in the IT industry, we created the webshop Pyttisen.se.

Pyttisen.se se was an online store that offered unique handmade baptism and children's clothing. We took the name from the time when we were pregnant, when the work name of our daughter had just been "Pyttisen".

Grace of Sweden

2013 we thought it was time to develop the company and contacted Åkroken Business Incubator who let us pitch our idea. They liked us so much that we were adopted immediately.
